A safe streets advocacy campaign from the FIA’s Child Health Initiative.
Every year, 250,000 children and youth are killed in road traffic crashes – 700 young lives lost every day. This is the leading cause of death for young people worldwide. Now, the new generation is demanding action – to deliver streets for life free from dangerous roads and air pollution, and to combat climate change.
Safe and healthy streets where space is shared equitably, which encourage walking and cycling while keeping young people safe on their journeys to school and college are possible. The solutions to transform street design, solutions that protect children, young people, and the climate are proven, low-cost, and universal.
